Arsenal 2 - 1 Ajax

Ajax was an impressive young outfit. Ryan Babel would be the one to watch in the near future . Sol was finally adding the soul to the rythme last night. The back four was at their best so far this season.

The ball from Ljungberg hit the back of the net in less than two minutes in the game. Any faster, Gilberto's 50-second goal record could be broken. Flamini hustle and bustle the midfield, Parlour-style, minus the curlies off course. Hleb tricks and tumble breaths something new that seldom seen in the Arsenal midfield before. My choice of MOM will be Kolo the bulldozer who played his heart out. A bit dissapointed that Lupoli was not selected ahead of Owusu-Abiyie, the local Amsterdam lad. Lupoli has been reported to spilling goals after goals in reserve games recently.

All in all, it was a well controlled game by the Gunners. Ajax bossed the game, so much so that Ajax looks like the Arsenal that we used to. The penalty - what the heck, I am biased, it was a penalty after all. Good job Arsene, one the first CL away win since early 2004.
